Kansas Walk and Roll to School Day

International Walk & Roll Day

We’re excited to invite you and your child to participate in International Walk & Roll to School Day on Tuesday, October 8th! This fun, healthy, and environmentally friendly event is celebrated by schools around the world — and Oliver Brown Elementary is proud to be part of it. On this special day, students and families are encouraged to walk, bike, scoot, or roll to school together. It’s a wonderful opportunity to promote healthy habits, reduce traffic and pollution around the school, and build a stronger sense of community. It also gives students a chance to practice safe walking and rolling habits in a fun and supportive way. Whether you walk from home, park a few blocks away and walk the rest, or roll on wheels, every step counts!

Take a look at the map below to see where your family or student can join in along the way! Be sure to wear helmets if biking or scooting and stay on the sidewalks to stay safe! Let’s make October 8th a joyful and successful day for our school community — we can’t wait to see everyone out walking and rolling together!

Meet our At- Risk Aides!

Mrs. Chyba, Mr. Quezada, and Mrs. Bragg are Oliver Brown Elementary's at-risk aides. They play a vital role in supporting students who face academic, behavioral, or socio-emotional challenges that put them at risk of falling behind. These aides work closely with students to provide targeted interventions, one-on-one support, and a safe, nurturing environment. Their efforts help build confidence, improve learning outcomes, and keep students engaged in their educational journey during these crucial early years.
