Kitchen Staff Shout Out
Tomecia and Brooke
We would like to recognize our kitchen staff and all they do for our school. Often starting early in the morning, they prepare, cook, and serve a variety of dishes that help fuel kids through their busy school days. These hardworking individuals not only ensure that meals meet health guidelines but also create a warm, welcoming environment where students can feel safe and supported. These friendly ladies are the heart and soul of the school cafeteria, always greeting students with warm smiles and making sure everyone feels welcome. Their kind, patient demeanor contributes to the overall sense of community in the school. Tomecia and Brooke, We appreciate everything you do!

It's time to celebrate literacy and the joy of reading with our annual Spirit Week! We’ve lined up a week full of exciting activities for both students and families. Bison Bingo
Complete activities on the Bison Bingo card during Read Across America Week as a family. Mark off each square as you complete it, aiming for four in a row, either across, down, or diagonally. If you're up for a challenge, try to complete the entire board. Use the Bison Bingo Activity Guide on the next page for detailed instructions on each square.

Once you have BINGO, return your card to the office by March 11th. All students who complete Bison Bingo will receive a prize in the office and have their name entered into a drawing for a chance to win the Bison Basket. Have fun reading, writing, and learning together! Bingo cards will be sent home on Monday to kick off the week!

Oliver Brown Story Walk
A story walk is a fun and engaging activity that blends reading with movement. Families are invited to stroll through the halls of Oliver Brown, immersing themselves in the story as they move from page to page. At each stop, a new chapter of the tale is revealed, creating an interactive reading experience for all ages. Families are invited to stroll the building any evening during the week.

We will also be having a "Design a Bookmark" contest going on! Forms for the bookmark contest and Bison Bingo cards will be sent home with students on Monday!

Scholastic Book Fair- child reading with a pile of books next to her

Additionally, families are invited to shop on Thursday from 3:45 to 5:45 PM. The book fair will also be open for parents only on Friday morning from 8:00 to 9:00 AM. Please note, no students will be allowed during this time unless accompanied by a parent.
