Friendly Reminder: Toys, Electronics, and Games
|
Parents, we kindly ask for your support in ensuring that students are not bringing toys from home to school. While there is a distinction between toys that cause distractions and fidgets designed for sensory input, we aim to maintain consistent expectations for all students. Please remind your child that toys should not be brought to school or used during the day, including in classrooms, desks, or pods. By reinforcing these boundaries, we can create a more focused learning environment for everyone.
Here is what is stated in our Student Handbook:
Students should leave toys, trading cards, electronic games, etc., at home unless they have permission from the Principal to bring them for instructional purposes. Spinners, fidgets, and similar items are considered toys unless provided as part of an IEP, SIT plan, or 504. Students are responsible for any electronic devices they bring to school, and the school is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage. If students bring their own cell phone or device, it must remain off and in their backpack during school hours (arrival through dismissal). Wearable technology follows the same guidelines and is addressed in district policies. Failure to comply with school and/or district policies may result in the phone, wearable technology, or device being confiscated, and parents may be contacted.
Thank you for helping us maintain a supportive and focused learning environment!
